Privacy policy
Last updated: September 24, 2026
This page explains what data we collect on sonarlocal.com, why we collect it and what you can ask us to do with it. No fine print.
1. Who is responsible
Your data is controlled by MAC CORMACK, UNIPESSOAL LDA, NIF PT519109511, a company registered in Portugal that runs the Sonar Local brand. Even if your business is in the United States, you are dealing with this Portuguese company.
Contact: info@sonarlocal.com.
2. What we collect
When you request the free audit, you give us:
- Your business name.
- Your business address.
- Your email address.
- If you reach us by WhatsApp, email or phone, your number and whatever you tell us.
- Technical browsing data (pages viewed, device, rough location) through the analytics tools listed below.
3. How we use it
We use this data to put together your free audit, email it to you and answer your questions. If you sign up for a plan, we also use it to deliver the service.
Browsing data helps us see what works on the site and measure our ads. We never sell your data.
4. How long we keep it
If an audit does not turn into a client relationship, we keep the data for up to 12 months and then delete it.
For clients, we keep it for as long as the service runs, plus whatever period tax and accounting law requires afterwards.
You can ask us to delete it sooner at any time.
5. Third-party services
We rely on these providers, who handle data on our behalf:
- Google Places API: looks up your listing's public information for the audit.
- Google Analytics 4: measures visits and how the site is used.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram pixel): measures how our ads perform.
- Cloudflare Turnstile: checks that a real person, not a bot, submits the form.
- MXroute: sends and receives email, including your audit.
7. Your rights
You can ask to see your data, correct it, unsubscribe from any messages or have it deleted entirely. Email info@sonarlocal.com and we will reply within 30 days.
If you think we have mishandled your data, you can also file a complaint with Portugal's data protection authority (CNPD).
8. Changes to this policy
If we make a meaningful change, we will update the date at the top. The version posted here is always the current one.
